OHIO GRADUATION TEST ANALYSIS
There are three sets of reports in this section:
- Top Academic Ohio High Schools documents
- Analysis of the Public School Districts in Ohio's Four Largest Cities
- League Academic Performance
The Top Academic Ohio High Schools reports provide my list of the top schools in Ohio for the March 2007 and March 2008 tests. Note that the top schools report containing the 2009 data is now available - just click on the red link on the left.
The Analysis of the Public School Districts in Ohio's Four Largest Cities is a new document and it provides in-depth analysis for the Cincinnati, Toledo, Columbus, and Cleveland school districts.
The League reports provide information on how all Ohio schools performed on the Ohio Graduation Test within their own sports league. This includes over 80 leagues and 800 schools.
All of the leagues now include the 2009 data.
The goal for this analysis is to encourage communities to look at academics differently. While the Ohio Graduation Test is just one piece of the puzzle on how to measure schools, communities should be aware of how their tenth graders performed in the various subjects versus the other teams in their league. Schools should also be aware of their strengths and weaknesses in academics just as much as they are aware of their basketball teams' foul shooting percentages.
Every school in Ohio can do better. It all starts with knowing where your school stands now versus your peers and what your goals should be next year. Can you beat your rival's school in Social Studies next year? Can you be first in the league in three years? Hopefully, these reports will provide you with guidance on what your goals should be.
These reports have been custom created to make it easy to quickly navigate throughout the document. For best results, follow the directions in "red" below.
